Nik has answered so many "interview" questions at this point I wasn't  sure there would be anything else we could learn about him. I've basically unzipped him, turned him inside-out and shaken him until all of his insides spilled out all over in previous interviews. I was fortunate that I saw him posting on Facebook about moving a lot recently. Finally. Something new to talk about! Also, I ended up mailing his package to the wrong address (still claim this is not my fault) so we cover that as well.

bARTer Sauce Travels to Sacramento, CA

Some of you probably already know about bARTer Sauce. It's my experiment in trading for art and odd objects. Whatever I get -- I trade for something else -- and everyone I trade with has to tell me a story.

The project was supposed to last for one year, but it's been over four years at this point and it is still going strong. I have made hundreds of trades with people all over the US, Canada, Mexico and the UK. I've met some crazies and some people who have become friends for life.

bARTer Sauce: Nik Trades me Mosaic Clown Painting and Lost Cock

Nik trades with bARTer Sauce a lot. A LOT. All the time. He trades with me so much that I am really far behind in updating the website with all his trade offers. He trades with me so much that I have officially BANNED him from the site until September 1, 2009. He is not allowed to make any trade offers, no matter what kind of awesome stuff I get between now and then.

As usual, I made Nik answer some "interview" questions.

Since Nik trades with me at a feverish rate, now I force him to not only answer the questions, but also to make them up. Here's what he came up with this time:

Sometimes I feel like maybe this website is a bit unnecessary and just provides Nik with a handy user interface when asking me to trade art with him. Sometimes - but not always. When we get to 100% Nik trades...it might be time for a change.

But until then, we press on -- not like the nails -- but like progress -- ingenuity -- the future.

Jaden is a frequent visitor at our First Thursday Art Walks.

I've even heard rumor that she let my studio partner paint her up like a hummingbird and photograph her. I have yet to see the evidence.

Nik and I have done at least one billion trades at this point.

It becomes kind of difficult to think of a new thing to write about ever time -- especially since we do our trades through the mail so LITERALLY -- nothing happens (unless the mean post office lady is there and then I can at least complain about how she yelled at me once and I'm now holding a grudge about it a year later).
